A Wedding Shoe Guide to Help You Find, The Pair

Picking out wedding shoes is a key milestone that often happens much earlier than you would expect. Many brides say yes to the dress 7 to 12 months out from their wedding date due to the super long alteration timelines often required. Before you even get alterations, you need shoes! Plus you'll want plenty of time to break in the baddies! Do you go for sparkles, lace, pearls, or satin? Super high, some height, or straight flats? The height you choose becomes critical for a perfect wedding dress fit. All those proms, high school dancing, and clubbing parties were your shoe practice to find out what you like, dislike, can handle, and maybe made you realize that stilettos were most definitely not for you. And that's the point of shoe practice! After all those years of practice, you should have a good idea on what type of shoe you can conquer! Your wedding shoes should be comfortable AND beautiful. We hope this guide helps you shop the top wedding shoes and help you find the pair for your special day!

How to Break In Your Wedding Shoes:

Breaking in wedding shoes takes time. Ever wear a pair of brand new heels and go out on the town, and ripping off your shoes immediately when you get home? Blisters are no fun and neither are sore feet, so how can you break in your wedding shoes before the big night?

Start by wearing your wedding shoes on different surfaces

This is critical as the day of may cover different surfaces such as grass, carpet, marble floors, hardwood floors, etc.

Stand in your wedding shoes while not moving (as you would up at the altar)

This will help you get used to standing in one place in your new kicks! Many shoes are tough to stand in for long periods of time, however, you can get a good gauge on how that may feel the day of.

Wear you wedding shoes around the house in 30 minute increments

This should be easy as you can wear your wedding shoes as you get ready in the mornings before work. Often times, we rush around in the mornings, walking around the house, and this would be perfect for breaking in wedding shoes. You can also wear them while you vacuum the house.

Wear your wedding shoes out to dinner with your Fiance

Now this one may sound risky, but one night out to dinner wearing your wedding shoes won't kill them. Just make sure to keep it to dinner only and skip the happy hour/bar hopping that night! And remember.....red wine stains!
